Who we are
Van Data Team is a founder-led AI and data engineering studio run by Tran Tien Van in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We decide how the personal data described here is used.

What we collect
We collect only what you send us and what the site needs to work and improve:
- Enquiries: the contact and consultation forms ask for your name, work email and project details, and optionally your phone number and company. The short form on the home page asks for an email address, with name, company and phone optional.
- Messages you send us by email, Upwork or LinkedIn, and calls you book through Calendly.
- Usage analytics from Google Analytics: pages viewed, the site or link that brought you here, approximate location, and device and browser type. Google Analytics does not store IP addresses.
- Conversion events: that a form was sent or that a booking, email, Upwork or LinkedIn link was clicked. The content of your form is never sent to analytics.
- Request logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address and browser, for security and reliability.
How we use it
To reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal, to run and deliver projects we agree on, to see which pages are useful so we can improve them, and to keep the site secure.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
Analytics and cookies
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics sets no cookies until you allow it. Until you choose, or if you decline, Google may still receive basic signals without cookies or identifiers, which are only used in aggregate.
Everywhere else analytics runs by default, and you can decline at any time through Cookie settings in the footer of every page.
When analytics is allowed, Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_DTQ8T8K9Y1 cookies, which last up to two years. Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage as vdt-analytics-consent and is never sent to us.
The workflow video on the home page loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain, youtube-nocookie.com, only when you press play.
Who processes it for us
We use a small number of providers, each for one job and under its own data protection terms. Some of them process data outside Vietnam and outside your country.
- Resend delivers form submissions to our inbox.
- Google provides Google Analytics, and hosts the site on Firebase App Hosting (Google Cloud).
- Cloudflare provides DNS for the domain.
- Calendly handles call bookings, if you book one.
- YouTube serves the home page video, if you play it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and project correspondence are kept while we discuss or deliver work with you and for our business records afterwards. Ask us and we will delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them.
Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Analytics property, at most 14 months. Hosting request logs follow the provider’s log retention.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to trantienvan@vandatateam.com and we will reply as soon as we can.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the GDPR or its UK and Swiss equivalents give you these rights, and you can complain to your data protection authority. In Vietnam, Decree 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection applies.
Children
This site is meant for businesses and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when what the site does changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
